Wandering up the hills,
Meandering through the dales,
Wafting through the leaves,
Whispering up the vale
A creeping, sneaking, crawling
Mass of frozen smoke
Drifting through the windows,
Lifting o'er the moat
Creeping along the roadside,
Rumbling along the sea,
Crossing waves and oceans,
To where my heart should be
Darkening, deepening, thickening,
Then slowly creeping away
As sunlight breaks through the mist
Meandering through the dales,
Wafting through the leaves,
Whispering up the vale
A creeping, sneaking, crawling
Mass of frozen smoke
Drifting through the windows,
Lifting o'er the moat
Creeping along the roadside,
Rumbling along the sea,
Crossing waves and oceans,
To where my heart should be
Darkening, deepening, thickening,
Then slowly creeping away
As sunlight breaks through the mist
This morning cloud of gray.
